Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni head to court in May.
A civil lawsuit filed by Blake Lively against former co‑star Justin Baldoni is set to proceed to trial on May 18. The suit, related to the 2024 film “It Ends With Us,” alleges sexual harassment by Baldoni and retaliation from his production company, Wayfarer Studios, after Lively reported misconduct. Fifteen of Lively’s thirteen claims were dismissed by U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman earlier this month, leaving only breach of contract, retaliation and aiding‑and‑abetting charges.
On Tuesday, neither actor appeared at the pre‑trial conference held by the judge at the U.S. District Court in Miami. Attorneys from both sides discussed the selection of expert witnesses and estimated that each party would need approximately three weeks to present its case. The judge asked the parties to confirm the availability of several experts, including two from Lively’s side and one from Baldoni’s side, for a follow‑up hearing.
Lively’s counsel highlighted a potential $35 million sequel opportunity that she claims was denied, while Baldoni’s attorneys dismissed the claim as speculative and countered allegations of financial losses. No statements were provided by the actors themselves.
