Melania Trump confronts Jimmy Kimmel, calls ABC for action.
Melania Trump posted a criticism of ABC host Jimmy Kimmel on her social‑media account on Monday, calling remarks made by Kimmel on a recent episode of his show “hateful and violent.” The post referenced a parody segment that aired on Thursday in which Kimmel made a joke about the first lady. The segment preceded a shooting incident outside the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, where a gunman opened fire and forced President Trump, the first lady, and other officials to evacuate. Investigators reported the suspect believed he was targeting Trump administration officials, noting a motive tied to leftist ideology.
The first lady’s remarks come after ABC briefly suspended “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in September over comments about the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kimmel returned to the program in October and later signed a one‑year extension to continue hosting the late‑night show.
ABC and Disney have not yet responded to inquiries about the first lady’s statement. The criticism was not accompanied by a formal complaint, and there is no indication of any regulatory or legal action being pursued.
