Patrick Muldoon, Days of Our Lives star, dies at 57.

Patrick Muldoon, a former actor on “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place,” died at age 57, according to his family. The announcement was made by his sister, Shana Muldoon Zappa, in a public post on Monday. She described the loss as sudden and stunned, noting that details of a memorial service were not yet available.

Muldoon began his career as a college football player for the USC Trojans before entering entertainment. He appeared on “Who’s the Boss?” in 1990, modeled for Calvin Klein, and had early television roles on “Saved by the Bell” and “Silk Stalkings.” He gained prominence on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992, portraying Austin Reed in nearly 500 episodes, winning a Soap Opera Digest Award for Best New Actor and securing a development deal with Spelling Entertainment.

He later joined “Melrose Place” (1995‑1996) as villain Richard Hart and appeared in more than 50 feature films, including “Starship Troopers.” In 2020, he produced and acted in “The Comeback Trail,” and his most recent work included a role in “Dirty Hands.” He also promoted an upcoming project, “KOCKROACH,” directed by Matt Ross.

Colleagues from his daytime television career, such as Alison Sweeney and Lisa Rinna, posted tributes and expressions of admiration. No public statements about a celebration of life have been issued, and the family remains in shock.
