Woman charged with cruelty after dumping kittens in Wilton Manors park.
A woman in Wilton Manors was arrested on Thursday after investigators discovered that she had abandoned five kittens in Donn Eisele Park on Easter morning. Surveillance footage from a nearby residence shows a red sedan pulling up to the park, the driver placing a taped cardboard box on the grass. Moments later, the driver left, and the kittens were seen spilling onto the ground.
Wilton Manors police credit a bystander who witnessed the event to rescue four of the kittens, while the fifth was recovered shortly after. All five cats have since been adopted. The suspect, Katherine Luciano, was booked into a local jail the same afternoon.
Law enforcement officials have not released details regarding potential charges for any passenger in the vehicle. No further arrests have been announced, and authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
