Community Comes Together to Foster Appreciation and Positivity Locally
Vivian Woda of Delray Beach expressed gratitude for her parents’ and husband’s strength in escaping pogroms in eastern Europe. They arrived at Ellis Island as legally sponsored immigrants and became part of the “greatest generation.” Woda recalled the patriotism instilled in her during World War II.
However, Woda noted that her gratitude is unwarranted today due to the current state of the US government. She criticized the administration’s actions and the president’s behavior, comparing it to the authoritarian regimes her family fled.
In a separate letter, Larry Brady of Kansas City, Missouri, commented on an article about President Trump’s health and behavior. Brady challenged the article’s authors to keep up with the president’s daily activities, suggesting that they would be tired by his pace.
Another letter, from Jane Larkin of Tampa, discussed President Trump’s use of the term “hoax” to discredit criticism of his policies. Larkin argued that this strategy may resonate with the president’s base but is misleading to most Americans.
Ronald Jones of Pembroke Pines commented on the president’s social media platform, Truth Social, stating that most posts on the platform cannot be labeled as true. Jones expressed concern that the government is not working for the people and called for accountability.
