Fifteen people hospitalized following suspected boat blast near Haulover Beach.
Around noon on Saturday, Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a suspected explosion near Haulover Sandbar off Haulover Beach. More than 25 units, including Fireboat 21, ocean‑rescue teams, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, arrived by 12:48 p.m.
Rescue crews found several people in need of medical care and raised the incident to a Level 2 mass‑casualty event. Fifteen individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No public details about the patients’ ages or conditions have been released.
