YouTube raises subscription costs for Premium and Music services.
YouTube announced price increases for its subscription services on Friday, marking the first adjustment to Premium pricing in three years. The changes take effect on the platform’s U.S. accounts. Individual Premium subscriptions rise from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, while family plans climb from $22.99 to $26.99. Student plans increase from $7.99 to $8.99 monthly.
YouTube Music subscriptions are also subject to modest hikes. Individual plans go from $10.99 to $11.99, and family plans rise from $16.99 to $18.99 per month.
The company stated that the adjustments aim to maintain a high‑quality experience and support content creators and artists. Subscribers will receive notification emails within the next 30 days.
This move follows similar price increases by other streaming services such as Netflix, Paramount+, Crunchyroll, and Hulu, a trend industry analysts refer to as “streamflation.” The updates affect users across the United States.
