Jake Reiner Back on Podcast After His Parents’ Murder Investigation
Jake Reiner, 34, returned to the Dodgers podcast he co‑hosts on Wednesday, the first appearance since his parents were killed in their Los Angeles-area home on December 14. Reiner thanked supporters who have reached out and said the loss remains heavy, but he continues to feel close to his father through their shared love of baseball.
Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, were found dead in their bedroom by paramedics responding to a call. Nick Reiner, the couple’s middle child, was arrested the same day about 15 miles from the Brentwood residence. He entered a not‑guilty plea to two counts of murder, including the special circumstance of multiple murders and use of a deadly weapon, a knife.
Reiner explained that the outpouring of sympathy helped him cope with the tragedy. He said the news of his parents’ deaths “collapsed” his world and that he could only focus on returning to the family home to process the event.
The incident remains under investigation by Los Angeles County authorities.
