Meryl Streep Shares Insights About Experiencing Grandmotherhood.

Meryl Streep shared insights about her role as a grandmother in a recent interview. She described herself as “incredibly involved,” remarking that some people might view her participation as excessive. The actress emphasized the fleeting nature of time with her grandchildren and encouraged her children to allow her as much time with them as possible.

Streep is a parent to four grown children from her marriage to sculptor Don Gummer. Her oldest child, Henry Wolfe Gummer, has two children named Ida and Quinn. Mary Willa “Mamie” Gummer has a son Peter and a daughter Mary. The couple Grace Gummer and musician Mark Ronson have two daughters, one named Ruthie and another who has not been publicly named.

According to Streep, she has six grandchildren, all under six years old, with ages ranging from one to six. She praised the time her adult children give her to be present with the family, noting that she often travels by air due to living on opposite coasts.

The actress expressed gratitude for the moments she enjoys with her grandchildren and called the experience “divine.” She also reflected on the rapid passage of time, urging to seize every moment with her younger family members.

Streep’s remarks came as she prepares to reprise her role as Miranda Priestly in the upcoming sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada.” The interview was conducted with director Greta Gerwig and fashion editor Anna Wintour for a recent Vogue issue.
