Man Drives Past Officer While Evading Parking Citation in Doral.
A 43‑year‑old Doral resident was arrested Thursday after a parking enforcement specialist was struck by his vehicle in downtown Doral. The suspect, Ronald Ebrain Hernandez‑Belisario, was driving a gray Honda parked in a marked pay zone on Northwest 53rd Terrace. Officers verified that no payment had been made for the space.
The specialist approached the vehicle to issue a citation. While the driver was seated inside and appeared to be on a phone, the specialist informed him that payment was required. When she returned to issue the citation, Hernandez‑Belisario accelerated and collided the specialist’s passenger‑side mirror with the vehicle. The specialist was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment.
After the incident was recorded on the specialist’s body camera, police located Hernandez‑Belisario at a Doral address linked to the vehicle’s registration. He was identified in a show‑up identification and agreed to speak with investigators. He denied awareness of the parking violation and claimed the specialist had struck the mirror.
Hernandez‑Belisario was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and remains in custody on an aggravated battery charge and an immigration hold.
