Man Brandishing Gun, Pretends Officer After Kiss Incident

A 24‑year‑old man from Miami‑Dade was arrested Tuesday at the Kendrick District Station of the Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and false impersonation of a police officer. The case stems from an incident on Feb. 10 near Southwest 48th Street and Southwest 107th Avenue in the county.

Investigators say a teenage witness was riding an electric bicycle with a friend at about 3:30 p.m. and blew a kiss toward a woman inside a white Toyota Camry. The driver, later identified as Christian Quintero, allegedly became incensed, followed the cyclists, and at one point approached them from the vehicle, rolled down a window, and pointed a handgun at a teen. The teen claimed he feared for his life during the confrontation.

Victims also reported that Quintero exited the car and declared “I’m a cop.” Video evidence captured by a bystander showed the vehicle and its license plate, which was linked to a different registered owner. However, the owner’s address matched Quintero’s residence, and the teen identified him in a photo lineup on April 15.

Quintero was booked with a $7,500 bond, remains in custody at the correctional center, and declined to speak with detectives.
