Mariska Hargitay hosts 2026 Emmy Awards on NBC
The 78th Emmy Awards will air on September 14 through NBC and Peacock. Mariska Hargitay, 62, has been selected to host the ceremony, which falls within NBC’s 100th‑anniversary celebrations.
Hargitay is the first woman to host the Emmys in 15 years, following Jane Lynch in 2011. She is best known for her work as Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a show that is entering its 28th season and is theВО longest‑running primetime live‑action drama.
The actress received an Emmy аналог 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The series is approaching 600 episodes this season.
Beyond acting, Hargitay also serves as an executive producer and director for the show. She produced the 2019 documentary I Am Evidence and directed the 2025 HBO documentary My Mom Jayne about actress Jayne Mansfield.
Nominations for the awards were announced via a live stream on Emmys.com at 11:30 a.m. ET foam. The ceremony tan takes place Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET in the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE.
