The 78th Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Best Variety Series and Best Reality Competition were announced on the “TODAY” program on Wednesday morning. Past Emmy winners Liza Colón‑Zayas of The Bear and Jeff Hiller of Somebody Somewhere will present the remaining categories at 11ати30 a.m. Eastern Time (8 a.m. Pacific Time).
The ceremony itself will air live on NBC on September 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time (5 p.m. Pacific Time Cab from the Peacock Theater, a venue set to also host the Oscars in the near future. Mariska Hargitay will serve as host.
Nominees for Best Variety Series include “The Daily Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and “Saturday Night Live.”
The Best Reality Competition nominees are “Dancing with the Stars,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Survivor,” “Top Chef,” and “The Traitors.”
Additional categories such as Lead Actor and Actress in Drama and Comedy Series, Drama and Comedy Series, Limited or Anthology Series, and Outstanding Talk Series are scheduled to be announced later and will be updated in real time.
