FBI accuses 6 of armed Margaritaville kidnapping involving blowtorch torture, extortion

FBI charges six with armed abduction at Margaritaville, alleging torture and extortion.

Six men were charged under federal law for an armed kidnapping and robbery that began on the night of May 26 at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort parking garage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The suspects, all under 22, were identified as Saul Alfonso Fajardo (19, Hollywood), Anthony Teruel Hernandez (18, Miami), Weilen Hernandez (20, Miami), Amari Tamire Hill (21, Sunrise), Justin Phihoang Le (20, Miramar) and Marikevies McNichols Jr. (19, Homestead). A 17‑year‑old female accomplice was also implicated but not named in court filings.

Investigators say the crime began when the group lured victims to a rental car at the resort, then forced them into separate vehicles. Authorities report the suspects applied guns, a blowtorch, and threats, seized jewelry, phones and clothing, and demanded money through electronic transfers. One victim was reportedly forced to kneel, threatened with a blowtorch, and later abandoned in the parking area of the West Broward Boat Ramp, where he was beaten and sustained a burn injury.

The victims later contacted authorities; one was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. Surveillance footage linked the suspects to the scene, and recovered clothing contained burned fibers. The suspects were booked into the Paul Rein Detention Facility on June 1 and face arraignment dates through late June.
