On December 19, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice released portions of its investigation into former financier Jeffrey Epstein, including photographs and other documents.
A released photograph shows Michael Jackson beside Epstein in front of a painting of a topless woman, and another shows Jackson with Diana Ross and former President Bill Clinton on a private aircraft.
Jackson died in 2009 at age 50 from drug‑induced cardiac arrest. FBI investigations in the 1990s and mid‑2000s yielded no criminal charges.
Epstein, 66, was found dead in 2019 while in federal custody; authorities ruled the death a suicide by hanging.
Photographs also depict Mick Jagger with Clinton, Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell; no charges relate to Epstein’s activities.
Congressional leaders demanded the DOJ release all documents by a November 2025 deadline; the department said further releases would take additional weeks, sparking calls from Democrats for legal action.
