Oreo teams up with BTS for a hotteok-inspired cookie – NBC 6 South Florida

Oreo partners with BTS to launch Korean‑style honey cookie.

Mondelez International announced that its Oreo brand will launch BTS‑themed cookies on June 1 for online sales and June 8 for retail availability. The cookies will be distributed in more than 80 countries and will feature purple wafers, embossments of the seven group members and a light‑stick outline. The white‑cream filling is inspired by the Korean street food hotteok.

The product is a limited‑edition offering, and the company has not disclosed the quantity of units to be produced. CEO Martin Renaud said Oreo spent roughly two years developing the flavor, which began with three options before settling on hotteok. He emphasized a balance between authenticity to Korean culture and broader consumer appeal.

Mondelez’s marketing chief stated that Oreo seeks to resonate with a wide demographic while offering differentiated experiences. The company has previously partnered with brands such as Coca‑Cola, Selena Gomez, and Blackpink. The BTS collaboration follows the band’s earlier food partnerships, including a 2021 McDonald’s promotion and a noodle and drink line sold at Walmart.

As of the announcement, the Oreo‑BTS cookies are available for purchase online and will start retail distribution on June 8. No further details on the limited‑time duration or additional future collaborations were provided.
