Spotify will start saving tickets for real fans with ‘Reserved’ – NBC 6 South Florida

Spotify will reserve tickets exclusively for verified fans.

Spotify announced a new ticket‑access feature called “Reserved” on Thursday, May 21. The service will allow artists to set aside up to two seats for verified premium subscribers, who will receive a dedicated purchase window roughly one day before tickets go on sale to the public.

Reserved will use listening history, streaming activity, and social shares to identify an artist’s most engaged fans. Spotify will also monitor account activity to ensure that selected users are legitimate and not bots.

The company said the feature is intended to reduce competition from scalpers and automated bots, letting fans buy tickets in a “reserved” period instead of competing with large crowds at the same time. No additional fees are expected for users.

Spotify has not yet disclosed which artists, tours, or venues will participate, nor the total number of tickets to be reserved. Availability will vary by artist, tour, and location. The company plans to expand the feature to more shows of all sizes in the future.
