Six‑year‑old boy succumbs after drowning incident in Southwest Miami‑Dade pond
A six‑year‑old boy died Tuesday night after a Miami‑Dade County deputy rescued him from a pond near Southwest 284th Street and 142nd Avenue. The boy had been reported missing by his family earlier that evening. Responding deputies searched the area and located the child in the water.
A deputy entered the pond, pulled the child to shore, and administered CPR until Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue arrived. The boy was then airlifted to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition. Despite emergency treatment, he died at the hospital.
