Shy puppy Kendra seeks a caring forever home

An eight‑month‑old mixed‑breed dog named Kendra was brought to the Humane Society of Broward County from a rescue organization in Puerto Rico. The animal arrived two weeks ago and has been adjusting to the new environment. Staff note that Kendra is still somewhat shy but has shown improved confidence during a recent vehicle transport and when visitors enter the shelter.

The shelter suggests that Kendra may settle most quickly if placed with another dog, citing that many Puerto Rican rescues maintain good socialization with peers. An additional canine companion could help ease her adaptation and support basic training efforts.

Adoption opportunities are available at the shelter, which operates seven days a week beginning at 11 a.m., with tours continuing into the late afternoon. Potential adopters can visit in person or submit applications online through the organization’s website.

The Humane Society remains open to inquiries about Kendra and other available pets, including cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, as it continues its efforts to place rescued animals into permanent homes.
