Female charged with aiding murder suspects to escape police pursuit.
A 34‑year‑old woman was taken into custody by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. She faces a charge of accessory after the fact in a capital felony that occurred earlier this year. The suspect allegedly learned of a murder committed by her boyfriend and his friend, then traveled from Texas to Florida, returned to Texas with the perpetrators, and assisted them in avoiding law enforcement.
Police first discovered the victim, 22‑year‑old Hunter Howell, dead inside a vehicle near the West Broward Boat Ramp at 3451 N. U.S. 27 on Sunday, February 1. Detectives believe Howell was killed on January 31. An investigation linked the death to 19‑year‑old Jayden DeJesus of Miami and 19‑year‑old Trevon Quinones of Forney, Texas.
DeJesus and Quinones were arrested in February after a traffic stop in Kaufman County, Texas. Authorities have not yet released their extradition status to Florida. The motive for Howell’s murder remains undisclosed.
Background details include Howell’s occupation selling marijuana and his use of a vehicle that DeJesus and Quinones drove. The trio reportedly frequented the boat ramp area to play loud music from tank‑top vehicles, often on Sundays. The case is ongoing, with no further statements released at this time.
