Reality television personality Darrell Sheets, a former “Storage Wars” contestant known as “the gambler,” was found dead on April 22, 2026, in a residence in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Authorities reported that the death resulted from a self‑inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and Sheets was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, along with the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office, is leading the investigation.
Sheets had been a participant in storage auctions for more than three decades and appeared in 163 episodes of the show between 2010 and 2023. Following a heart attack in 2019, he relocated to Arizona, where he ran an antique store called Havasu Show Me Your Junk. He was involved in high‑value bids, including four paintings by Picasso and a record‑breaking comic book collection.
The television network airing the series, A&E, released a brief statement expressing sorrow over Sheets’ passing. It acknowledged his long‑standing contribution to the program and offered condolences to his family and friends.
