Dutch King and Queen Stop in Miami While Touring the United States
Dutch King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima visited Miami as part of a three‑day trip to the United States. The couple arrived in the city on Thursday, 14 April 2026, and spent the preceding night in Washington, D.C., where they stayed at the White House.
During Thursday’s activities, they attended an event at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, where they were welcomed by Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd. The museum visit was one stop in a broader itinerary that also included touring the city’s Calle Ocho neighborhood.
The Dutch royal family issued a statement about their American tour, noting that the visit coincided with the United States’ 250th‑anniversary celebrations and aimed to highlight long‑standing historical and cultural ties between the Netherlands and the United States.
No incidents were reported during the visits. The royal pair’s stay in Miami was confined to public engagements and cultural presentations, and the trip concluded at the end of the three‑day schedule.
