Pompano Beach Police Locate Felon After Citgo Bar Shooting
A shooting occurred at the Citgo gas station on 598 NW 15th St. in Pompano Beach early Saturday morning, around 1:21 a.m. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and found a 45‑year‑old man with gunshot wounds to his ear and shoulder.
Surveillance video captured the suspect, later identified as Victor Boyd, 43, of Deerfield Beach, pulling a handgun, firing two shots, and then walking away. Witness statements described Boyd driving an orange Buick and mentioned his history of drug sales in the area. The victim identified him as “Vic.”
A helicopter unit located the orange Buick near the 7000 block of NW First St. in Margate. Footage showed Boyd exiting the vehicle and throwing an object that was presumed to be a gun into a canal. Within 20 minutes of the initial dispatch, deputies took Boyd into custody.
Boyd now faces charges of premeditated attempted murder and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. He has multiple prior convictions for drug sales and possession. As of Monday afternoon, he is held at the Broward Main Jail without bond.
