Police investigate shooting of man in northwest Miami‑Dade.
Authorities in Miami‑Dade County responded around 6:20 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Northwest 24th Avenue and Northwest 62nd Street in the Brownsville area after reporters received a call reporting a person had been shot. The victim was on foot when he was struck by unknown gunfire and did not immediately realize he had been injured.
Responding deputies discovered the man with a visible gunshot wound to his lower leg and immediately assessed his condition. Firefighters from Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. The patient was reported to be in stable condition upon arrival.
The incident is being investigated by the Northside General Investigations Unit of the Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office. Police have no suspect or motive identified at this time.
