FBI probes death of Florida truck driver whose body discovered Georgia coast

A 41‑year‑old truck driver from Cuba, Alejandro Gonzalez, vanished on April 17 while driving south on Interstate 95 toward Miami. The FBI assumed responsibility after Gonzalez was reported missing by his employer.
On the day of his disappearance, Gonzalez had collected several vehicles in Georgia and intended to transport them to Miami. Witnesses place him last at a Brevard County rest area in Grant‑Valkaria, where he reportedly stayed overnight.
GPS data from the truck shows it was driven south to an exit before reversing north, after which Gonzalez became unreachable. The vehicle was found abandoned in Georgia, missing some of the cars he had been hauling. No other individuals were reported on the truck.
Neighbors reported no one at Gonzalez’s Port St. Lucie residence on the evening of April 19, and no persons of interest have been identified.
The FBI has requested photographs or video from anyone near the Brevard County rest stop on the morning of April 17. Investigators have yet to release a cause of death. The case remains open.
