Rob Reiner sends holiday greeting to South Florida families
Hollywood actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found stabbed to death at their Los Angeles residence on Sunday. The couple was 38 and 34 years old, respectively. Authorities confirmed the deaths on Monday and released the statement that the murders are under investigation.
Reiner’s son, Nick, aged 32, was taken into custody on Monday. He faces two counts of first‑degree murder and is being held without bail.
Weeks before the killings, Reiner recorded a message for an online Hanukkah candle‑lighting ceremony honoring Holocaust survivors. The video was broadcast on the fifth night of Hanukkah and shared by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. The message urged participants to remain resilient amid contemporary challenges.
The virtual ceremony coincided with an in‑person gathering of about 100 survivors at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. It drew attention to rising antisemitism, including the recent Sydney attack that claimed 15 lives.
Following Reiner’s death, former President Donald Trump publicly suggested that Reiner’s opposition to him may have contributed to the murder, a claim reported by media outlets.
