Family Confirms Rob Reiner’s Death Reason in Official Statement
Rob Reiner, the film director, and his wife, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday afternoon. Autopsy results from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death was homicide, attributed to multiple sharp‑force injuries.
Police statements released earlier confirmed that the couple had been stabbed before the bodies were discovered. The forensic report matches that description and indicates the deaths were not accidental.
Nick Reiner, one of the three siblings of the deceased, is currently charged with two counts of first‑degree murder. He appeared in court this week, gave a brief appearance, and did not enter a plea.
The Reiners’ other children, Jake Reiner, age 34, and Romy Reiner, age 28, shared a joint notice expressing profound grief and requesting privacy for the family as they mourn the loss of their parents. They highlighted the personal friendship the parents had with each of them and thanked those offering support.
The investigation remains active, with authorities continuing to assess evidence and determine the circumstances of the crime. No additional charges have been announced, and the case is pending further judicial proceedings.
