Travis Kelce Announces Future Play with Chiefs
On December 25, the Kansas City Chiefs were defeated 20‑13 by the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. The loss kept Kansas City’s record at 6‑10 and extended a five‑game losing streak, ruling out a postseason berth for the first time since 2014.
Travis Kelce, 36, stated that he has not seriously entertained retirement and continues to prioritize winning games. He said that a decision to leave would involve discussions with his family, friends and the Chiefs organization when “the time comes.”
Kelce was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft and has become one of the franchise’s most productive players. He is a three‑time Super Bowl champion, seven‑time All‑Pro, and currently leads the team in receiving yards.
The Chiefs’ season has been impacted by the loss of quarterback Patrick Mahomes to injury and the recent winless streak. The team will finish the regular season with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders on January 4.
Notably, pop‑star Taylor Swift attended the Christmas Day home game, marking Kelce’s 13th NFL season.
