CNN Showcases Fort Lauderdale on New Year’s Eve
Fort Lauderdale will be featured on CNN’s 2025 New Year’s Eve Live broadcast on December 31, following a partnership between the city’s tourism agency, Visit Lauderdale, and the network. The segment will last three minutes and will be filmed from Pier Sixty‑Six, a landmark resort that recently underwent a $1 billion renovation.
The production will take place aboard a Sanlorenzo yacht docked near Pier Sixty‑Six, with the shoot intended to highlight the area’s luxury lifestyle and nighttime marina ambiance. Visit Lauderdale will cover the cost of the broadcast fees as part of a year‑long media buy, though the amount has not been disclosed.
In addition to the on‑air feature, the agency will launch digital billboard advertisements in New York City’s Times Square that run during the New Year’s Eve telecast and continue for several weeks afterward. Pier Sixty‑Six will provide the yacht rental, food, and DJ services for the event.
Staff from Visit Lauderdale and Pier Sixty‑Six will manage the set on the yacht, while local personalities are expected to appear, though specific names have not been released due to network embargoes. The mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Dean Trantalis, welcomed the national exposure and highlighted the city’s visibility on a global platform.
